Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with an area of low pressure located about 600 miles east-northeast of the Leeward Islands continues to show signs of organization. However, upper-level winds are becoming less favorable, and the chances for a tropical cyclone to form are diminishing. The low is expected to move west-northwestward at about 20 mph during the next few days, and interests in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this disturbance. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...60 percent (-10). * Formation chance through 5 says... medium... 60 percent (-10).
The track is being more precise also and this system should move well north off our islands on Sunday.

SYSTÈME TROPICAL DANS 48 H | TROPICAL SYSTEM WITHIN 48 H
Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with an area of low pressure located about 750 miles east-northeast of the Leeward Islands continues to show signs of organization. While it would take only a slight increase in organization for a tropical depression to form later today or tonight, upper-level winds are becoming less favorable for development. The low is expected to move west-northwestward at about 20 mph during the next few days, and interests in the northern Leeward Islands should monitor the progress of this disturbance. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.
This system should pass fairly off our islands in about 48 hours as can be seen above but there is always room for error. A bit of bad weather is possible at least but it is not certain. This system will be named TEN (10) at first then IRMA if it becomes a Tropical Storm.
