La distribution des bulletins cycloniques du NHC a changé quelque peu. On commence maintenant par des bulletins de Potential Tropical Cyclone" (Cyclone Tropical potentiel) au lieu de "Dépression Tropicale" (semble-t-il). Comme les "Dépressions Tropicales", un "Potential Tropical Cyclone" n'est nommé que par son numéro d'ordre (ici TWO / 2). Il sera nommé quand il deviendra une Tempête Tropicale. Le prochain nom est BRET. EN BREF: le système tropical en approche pourrait devenir brièvement la Tempête Tropicale "Bret" dans les 2 ou 3 prochains jours sur l'extrême sud des Petites Antilles. Ensuite, sur la Mer des Caraïbes, il devrait rencontrer des conditions défavorables et se désorganiser. CE SYSTÈME NE MENACE EN PRINCIPE PAS NOS ÎLES ou alors très marginalement. "TWO" est situé actuellement à environ 1300 km au ESE des Windwards (sud des Petites Antilles). Il se déplace très rapidement à environ 37 kmh (20 nd) vers les Windwards. Les vents soufflent à 55 km/h ce qui est juste la limite de la force Dépression Tropicale mais il y a de plus fortes rafales. La Barbade et St Vincent-Les-Grenadines sont en vigilance Tempête Tropicale. D'autres alertes pourraient être lancées bientôt sur cette région. Ce système est prévu d'arriver sur le sud des Petites Antilles dans la nuit de lundi à Mardi et Mardi. Il devrait accéder au stade de Tempête Tropicale Lundi avant son arrivée. Il devrait ensuite s'affaiblir. "TWO" a 70% de de probabilités de devenir une Tempête Tropicale dans les 48 h. Fortes pluies et vents forts sont attendus.

A very active Tropical
Wave accompanied by a Low is running toward the southern
Lesser Antilles at about 15-20 mph.
However, the chance of formation during the 5 days are
diminishing at 50%. In addition, it should encounter less
conductive conditions within about 2-3 days. This system could
AFFECT THE WINDWARD ISLANDS around WEDNESDAY and perhaps
marginally affect our islands. Next NHC advisory
around 2 pm.
The broad area of low
pressure located over the northwestern Caribbean Sea
continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers
and thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is
expected while it moves slowly northwestward across the
Yucatan Peninsula later today and over the southern or
central Gulf of Mexico on Monday and Tuesday, where a
tropical or subtropical cyclone is likely to form.
Regardless of development, heavy rains are expected over
portions of Central America, the Yucatan Peninsula, Jamaica,
the Cayman Islands, and western Cuba during the next several
days. An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is
scheduled to investigate this system
later today, if necessary.
